they're certainly getting ready for a storm. >> the some storm is over cuba right now. lynette, as you look rther out, you've been telling us we could have other problems weather-wise here? >> exactly. yes you know that storm is going to bring problems to us. we're talking about windy conditions. it's going to get very cold down the line as well. but for today, let's just bask in today because we will have some very nasty weather as we head into the latter part of the weekend. the beginning of next week. so this morning, we do have the patchy fog out there this morning, we have reduced visibility, you can see these numbers, not at 10. 10 is the ideal number that we like to be. we can see 3 in baltimore now. more of the same in frederick. 4 in york and 5 in d.c. as well as easton along the shore and we are going to be heading out to the bus stop where the temperature coming in at 60 degrees this morning for the kids. they don't need the heavy coat just like they didn't need yesterday. and then by this afternoon, still they can take the coat off. it's going to be nice. it's going to be w

. we begin with a check of the forecast and say good morning to meteorologist lynette charles. >> good morning charlie. good morning everyone. we are dealing with temperatures that are above average for the most part this morning. mount airy coming in at 51- degrees and woodbine 43 and reisterstown at 49 degrees. you still need the jacket the coat as you head out the door this morning. and we do have a south southeast wind in mount airy right now at about 5 miles an hour. and also we're dealing with patchy fog for mount airy to reisterstown and even woodbine this morning, take it easy out and about. we look at maryland's most powerful radar as of now and we are dry. but, this will begin to change more into the afternoon especially this evening. the radar will become more active as we will see some scattered showers and thunderstorms across the area. planner looks like the for today. waking up to -- this for today. waking up to some cool egg temperatures by about -- cooler temperatures by about 9:00, 10:00, temperature coming in about 54 degrees. some sunshine in here to start

pest this morning. >>reporter: it sure is, lynette. you will want to expect reduced visibility. it's just awful out there. i could barely see driving in to work. so slow down. as as lynette mentioned, be sure to turn on those low beams. unfortunately we do have a crash to tell you about on route 295. it's right along the northbound lanes at route 32. and big problems in hartford county, as lynette mentioned, it's raining pretty hard in the area. we do have a fallen tree you'll want to watch out for in the northbound lanes of route 152 at hartford road. if you are traveling 95 in the area, here's a live look outside right now at route 152. you'll notice, again, that reduced visibility, certainly going to be an issue. but as we pull up some drive times, no problems to report from white marsh all the way into the city. you're looking at a 15-minute ride. if you're heading out to 695, here's a look at the fog at hartford road. no trouble traveling the outer loop from 95 up to 83. and the west side of the beltway will remain nice and clear, 11 minutes as well to travel the outer loop from

we get to those stories, in particular weather and traffic. lynette is going to let you know how to dress those kids and lauren is going to tell you how to get on the roads because the big story this morning is the fog. before we talk about everybody, we -- everything, we do want to tell you about some school delays, cecil county on a two- hour delay. >> also queen anne's county and kent county on 90-minute delays and in queen anne county no pre- k today, this all as a result of fog. >> how are the roads looking? >>reporter: we are dealing with accidents everywhere. i'll have more coming up. but that reduced visibility is the main concern right now. >> exactly. we knew today coming in that it was going to be a busy bad day for us up here and that's exactly what we're getting. dense fog advisory in effect until 8:00 for a lot of areas right now. the areas there are shaded in the gray. you can stay home, close to home and have some dense fog advisories and also you can head toward the north and east and have some dense fog advisories there and slide off to the west and also south, so

in queen anne no morning pre-k. >> the storms were bad out there. lynette, you've been watching this. >> coming in it was very bad outside, very hectic. we do have a dense fog advisory for 8:00 this morning for this area shade inside the gray color. we're looking at cecil county and hartford county, northern baltimore county, the city and also as we head south in anne arundel county. so this is what we can expect through 8:00 and even once 8:00 passes we'll still have that fog out there, it just won't be dense in nature. since we do have that dense fog advisory, we see reduced visibility about quarter mile or less in a lot of spots this morning, so you really need to take it easy. across the eastern shore we have about seven miles of reduced visibility there and this will continue until that sun rises for today and we'll still have some areas of patchy fog across the area. this is what we're working with this morning, we do have showers across cecil county and kent coun. if you are in those areas, make sure you do take the rain gear as you head out and about. temperature in jeff

the abc 2 time saver traffic with lauren cook. good morning. >>reporter: good morning, lynette. unfortunately sandy has left behind a lot of debris outin' the roads. and in baltimore county, it's actually caused a historic whiskey plant in cockiesville to partially collapse. so the northbound lanes of york road are now shut down at railroad avenue. you will want to use warren road, scwann road or even 83 as your alternate routes. there are several accidents working right now. we do have some trouble in baltimore city where there's a crash right on wabash avenue right at northern parkway, and then another accident on hilton parkway at north avenue. for those of you traveling on the beltway, here's a live look right now at the west side at liberty road. traffic moving right along. there are no delays on the inner loop through pikesville. the outer loop nice and clear down towards 95. and this is what 95 looks like downtown, traffic moving right along here at 395. the roads still going to be pretty wet, so take some precaution as you do head out, and unfortunately, we do have anot

florida? right to lynette charles. >> you asked the question can this affect us through time and that answer is yes. not quite sure where sandy is going to go but again we have a huge potential of getting sandy as we go through time here. what's going on with hurricane sandy as you said it is around cuba. you can see that eye well defined eye now. it will move over cuba and enter back into some warm waters and it will be lashing the coast of florida as well and that track will tech it up to the knot -- take it up to the north. what's going on here? because as we look at maryland's most powerful radar as of now, we are nice and dry. we'll stay dry even throughout the day. now we also have a little bit of patchy fog out there this morning and also some misting. so be prepared for that as you go into the morning time. by the afternoon, this is what we can expect. well, we will start to see a sun/cloud mix just like we saw yesterday. and as we head into lunchtime the temperature at 69 degrees and we will be dry. temperature-wise for a high today will be a little bit cooler than what

lynette charles with more on the storm and its track and how soon it could reach us. here's a live shot of virginia beach virginia if i am not mistaken that's about the position of the storm. >> it's off the coast of virginia. and it's lashing that area. and even we are getting in on some of that rain. i am going to zoom in closer in a second. but i want to step out so you can see the scope of the storm. it's huge. it's massive. look how large this is. look how large this is. i can't even cover the storm just stepping in here. it's going to be a big storm that will impact a lot of people. we can see the outer rain bands moving in across delaware and eastern shore. but look back off towards the west around west virginia now, starting to he see the change over to -- starting to see the change over to snowfall. zooming in on maryland's most powerful radar and this is what we are working with. heavy rain now coming into elkton and cecil county. zooming in closer and we can see around easton and cambridge and severna park and we are dealing with some heavy rainfall across jarrettsville and bell

little rainy as we got into work this morning. >> may want to have the umbrella handy. also lynette this morning you're monitoring the weather and still feels kind of sticky and muggy out there. >> yes, on the sticky side charlie and also some fog out there this morning but some patchy fog. visibility reduced once again. 7 miles in easton. and baltimore to the north end york only about four miles of reduced visibility there. and also you were talking about the showers, we have a shower now in frederick county around emmettsburg and we can go ahead and zoom in on that area and you can see where it is. this is sliding up to the north but this is the only thing we're seeing as of now. maybe just little bit of misting out there but all in all we are going to taper things down throughout the day in terms of the wet weather. in terms of temperatures right now we are warm once again. baltimore at 70 and aberdeen at 69-degrees this morning. and this is what we looked like through the hour by hour. we can see you're waking up to some patchy fog this morning it is going to be a mild day. and

person who would probably echo that is our own lynette charles. she's standing by with the forecast. >> yes, we do have some cleanup to do. we can start today because things will start to dry out nicely. we can see on maryland's most powerful radar, close to home, things not so bad. we do have plenty of clouds out there, but it is back off towards the west we are dealing with some snow and also some rain across that area. but speaking of the snow, let's check out what's going on in snowshoe mountain resort. look at this, this is a good thing that we're not going through this for today because this is not a nice sight on halloween. but when it's all said and done, you can still see the snow swirling across that area about two to three feet of some snowfall across that area. so sandy dumped rain, wind, tropical storm force winds and also some snowfall in the interior. let's check out temperatures this morning in mount airy, 39 degrees. it is cold out there. make sure you do have that coat as you head out and about. more of the same in elkton, coming in at 41 degrees. these temperature

be but we know it's going to be bad. >> lynette charles is standing by with a check of the forecast. you are not surprised by what you are seeing in oc. >> no. not at all. and it's going to keep going downhill. it's not even close to making landfall yet. so, the hurricane hunters flew into the storm and this is what they got from it. the wind sustained at 85 miles an hour. it's moving to the north at 13. and the pressure has dropped at 9:46. that's -- 946 and it's 300 miles east southeast of ocean city maryland and it's pounding that area as of now. also, those outer rain bands moving into our area as well. we are looking at some heavier rain especially around the eastern shore. this will continue as we go throughout the day. so it's not going to be letting up any time soon as we go in through time, and when i say time, i mean like thursday and friday. that's when things will begin to improve but in terms of rainfall, look what we picked up across the area. about .06 in sparrows point and towards annapolis .08 so lots -- .08 -- .80. so that's the trend continuing through the day. le

lynette charles who is tracking the storm letting us know when it could make its way into maryland. >> yes. as i say the next 24 hours is where we are looking at it to make landfall in the southern new jersey so with that we are going to be very windy and very rany and we have storm surge and also flooding that's going to be taking place. so it's staying strong. the wind sustained now at about 85 miles an hour. still moving off towards the north and it has not quite yet takeent westerly jog that the -- taken the westerly jog that will set its ice on us. we are dealing with plenty of rain pushing into the area. we can still see how large this system is. and these winds tropical storm force winds extend well away. so this is going to continue as we go through the next several days. the wind aspect especially. but let's talk about the rain right now with super storm sandy and the heaviest rain is down to the south right now around ocean city. and it's moving across the bay. but look at the reds and the oranges now we are starting to see that around severna park and this is sliding up from the
